No, i tried to compile it from source because i couldn't find
a package version, but I haven't got a working install yet.

It is curl 7.19.7 downloaded from curl.haxx.se.
I compiled it with the default options and when
i typed "sudo make install" macports was still not working.
So libcurl comes with a software named curl?

I can't do any testing right now, the mac belongs to a friend
of mine at his home. My goal was to install some GNU software
of which there are no packages, like pidgin. Those messages are
the report of what I did today. I used mostly
GNU/Linux OS, now i'm a bit puzzled with Mac OS X.
I like this system, but i need more experience to use it well.
