picking a specific perl

Port mod_perl2 has perl5 as a dependency.
$ port rdeps mod_perl2

Port perl5 has perl version variants.
$ port variants perl5
$ port rdeps mod_perl2 +perl5_14


Try:
$ sudo port install mod_perl2  +perl5_14

or: 
$ sudo port install perl5 +perl5_14
$sudo port install mod_perl2
