Help with conjoined apaches

That means you're always running Apple's apachectl---so far.

There should be one installed by MacPorts as well. Look for in the package list or peruse the /opt/local/apache2 directory, then make sure you have the path to it prepended to your $PATH so it gets used rather than the system one.
