This is the root of it; for whatever reason, you have a groff executable
that you don't have permission to run.  Check permissions; possibly
deactivate and re-activate the groff port to reinstall everything with the
right permissions.

(If you have something from CPAN that changed permissions on
/opt/local/bin/groff, take it out and shoot it.  That'd be exceptionally
poor behavior even for random CPAN packages.)
