I think Phil is talking about that on Linux. I believe the answer is yes. I have not actually tried to install bacula without the +client_only variant and so I'm not sure if the director will work on Mac OS X currently. At work our director is on Linux and we have many Mac clients that successfully use the bacula (+client_only) port - which I now maintain.
