Problem with Octave while doing "port upgrade outdated"

Thanks, Michael, and sorry for being slow to get back to this.

I just filed a ticket for this:

Short version: I did as you suggested. The installation process still fails but now only config.log is referenced, not also main.log as before. I attached config.log as well as all of Terminal output during the installation process.
