http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets. Editing the Portfile (port
file libgphoto2 tell you where it is) and coming up with a patch will
certainly speed up the process. Shouldn't be too hard in this case,
probably only version and checksums need to be changed. See

give it a shot and have further questions.
