Back when it still worked (it wasn't updated for Lion or MacPorts 2.x), Porticus was my favorite - it let one see port options (or choose them for a newly installed port), let one do forced installs if needed, etc.  Very little I'd routinely do that I couldn't do through it.

Sadly, I've written just about zero in either Objective-C or using Xcode IDE...so my learning curve to try and get it updated would be very steep.
