Xcode command line version ...

Hi all,

I am about to install a new Mac from scratch and have some doubt. I installed only the small command line version of Xcode, as I assumed this would be sufficient for Macports.

However, when I install software I get the following error:

--- snip ---
[…]
Error:
Error: No Xcode installation was found.
Error: Please install Xcode and/or run xcode-select to specify its location.
Error:
Warning: xcodebuild exists but failed to execute
Warning: Xcode does not appear to be installed; most ports will likely fail to build.
[…]
--- snap ---

In general, installs work anyway, event if the port in build (not only fetched the precompiled package). So I am wondering it Macports really needs the complete Xcode version.

Any clarifications? Thanks!
