Trouble using ssh-agent from macports

The openssh port creates a StartupItem for this. Can you try disabling OS X's built-in SSH server and running this?

    % sudo port load openssh

P.S. Mucking around in /System is highly inadvisable, and any "instructions" telling you to do so should be looked upon with great skepticism.
