That leads to links to other similar issues for the same problem with other functions, and this MacPorts bug report:

Someone said it’s a bug in the system header; if so, Apple is the one who needs to fix that, so report the bug to them. If it’s a bug in how gcc is handling what the system header says, report the bug to the gcc developers.
