crafty: can't create directory "work": permission denied

Well there seems to be something wrong with your permissions. Assuming this issue is specific to the crafty port, then the issue will be with a directory in /opt/local/var/macports/build whose name ends with the word “crafty”. Look for such a directory and delete it, then try again.
