gnumeric upgrade fail

On OS 10.9.2, all other ports up-to-date, currently installed: gnumeric @1.12.8_1+python27 (active), requested upgrade to gnumeric-1.12.8_2+python27.darwin_13.x86_64.tbz2 fails when building.

log file shows:
