pdfTeX in texlive missing pdftex.fmt

update....

It's part of texlive.  I just went to CTAN, to just build it myself
and skip the MacPorts version, and found this, which confirms what
I remembered from years ago:

   "All current free TeX distributions, including TeX live, MacTeX and
   MiKTeX include pdfTeX"
