Message in the installer dmg (maybe even a checkbox to auto-install the
port?) and after selfupdate to a new version? The latter would even be
better as a "display notes for base upgrade" function; come to think of it,
that could go along with the project to make base itself a port, even if it
is not functionally so you could display ui_note-s from it.
