sudo port -v selfupdate failed for 2.2.1 -> 2.3.1 on 10.6.8

Hi,

I've had selfupdate failures too, from 2.2.x to 2.3.0 and later from 2.3.0 to 2.3.1 . I never mentioned them because in both cases the error had seemed to resolve itself after issuing the selfupdate command a 2nd time.
