ld64 regressed?

On OS X 10.6.8:

$ port installed ld64
The following ports are currently installed:
  ld64 @236.3_1+llvm34 (active)

$ port outdated
ld64                           236.3_1 < 136_2  (epoch 0 < 1)  
}}}

Why revert to 136_2 instead of remaining at 236.3_1 if the current version doesn't build on 10.6?
