Having trouble starting gnome-terminal on Mavericks

A while ago (this year) Brandon helped me lots when I had the same problem. I don’t exactly recall what fixed it peek in the archives.
I’m using iTerm now which does all I wanted from gnome-terminal with only minor irritants.
