cacti should offer variants for choosing a newer version of MySQL; this is https://trac.macports.org/ticket/41937

mysql5 doesn't build on current OS X; this is https://trac.macports.org/ticket/45455. We're not planning on fixing that; users are asked to use a newer version of MySQL instead.
