In mathematics, among other uses, the Greek letter (capital) delta is
used to denote a difference or an increment in a quantity.
I would interpret the sentence "Netflix [...] works to maintain a zero
delta from mainline FreeBSD" as "Netflix [...] works to stay as close
as possible to mainline FreeBSD".
