http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/X11-UsersFAQ#Dontlikelaunchd
disables all autostart. (Log out and back in afterward.) You can then
reinstall or reactivate the one you want to autostart (and log out and back
in again; if you're doing these in a single sitting, you don't need to log
out between the steps).
