Also note that Homebrew spent last of year learning this the hard way,
after making the same assumption that this was some stupidity MacPorts came
up with just to make people's lives miserable.

Apple doesn't care; Apple doesn't have to care. If you don't like it, don't
use OS X, because Apple is not going to change. It will break stuff as it
sees fit. This is the price of living in Apple's world.
