Yes. Debian splits it into 'git' (the whole thing including those scripts)
and 'git-core' (the absolute minimum), but most people install the full
package and I gather maintaining the separate packages in a ports-style
system was becoming too annoying, so they were combined in MacPorts (at one
point they were separate).
