MacPorts rsync server in Germany - is this the current "normal"?

It was slow for you a week or more ago, or it is slow for you now?

When you say "fetching", what do you mean exactly? Fetching what? The change described above refers to the rsync server which only handles transfers of MacPorts base and portfiles. When you actually install a port and fetch an archive or a distfile, that goes to a different server, so if that's where it's slow, you would need to tell us what server that particular port was fetching its files from.
