rpm54 needs xar-devel; xar-devel still busted 6 months later (ticket #51675)

The rpm54 port requires xar-devel; looks like Google archived/abandoned "xar"
so the fetch URL ( http://xar.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/xar ) no longer works.

Is there any chance of either switching rpm54 to just require xar and not
xar-devel, and see if it works?  Does rpm54 absolutely, positively need
some xar 1.6.x feature?

Or, failing that, switch the xar-devel port to get it from the mackyle
fork ( http://mackyle.github.io/xar/ ) instead?
