clang 3.4 can't be configured (part of a selfupdate)

so I did: 
Step 1: OK as per https://guide.macports.org/chunked/installing.macports.uninstalling.html
Step 2: MODIFIED: sudo port -v install libcxx +universal
Python 27 fails to build: http://pastebin.com/zJZM4vM8 and log: http://pastebin.com/0L1rTQZP

What is the issue this time?
