Octave out of date?

Our MacPorts version is the latest released version, but homebrew has a +HEAD option for building the tip of the dev tree for most of their software, and we don't support that. Perhaps that's what they are talking about. 

It seems to me the tip of the octave dev tree has evolved quite a bit from 4.2.1 -- I took a look at it just the other day -- probably some new release coming soon.
