Uninstall a port and ONLY THAT PORT's dependencies?

That's quite likely; I've been using this MacBook since early 2010 with 
Snow Leopard and whatever MacPorts was at the time.

I hate to think how bloated High Sierra is going to be; this thing is 
already maxed out at 4GB memory, and I simply cannot afford a new one.
