missing steps in configuring pmadb for phpmyadmin? P.S>

Do I merely edit config.inc.php so as to uncomment those additional lines, after completing the Step 6 from https://trac.macports.org/wiki/howto/PHP <https://trac.macports.org/wiki/howto/PHP> ,
or is there some action needed so as to change entries in the phpmyadmin mysql database itself?
