How to launch after a port?

Hi Ken,
Thanks - tried inkscape from terminal but still no luck - appears in Dock with application not responding … have to ctrl-c to exit the terminal session.
The version I ran the port against was the x11 rather than the quartz - don’t know if that makes any difference?
