gimp doesn't open images

Strange,

With the patched exiv2, I can open jpeg and tiff files in Gimp w/o any issues.

High Sierra,

exiv2 @0.27_1 (active) platform='darwin 17' archs='x86_64' date='2019-01-15T16:54:11-0600’
gimp2 @2.10.8_3+python27 (active) platform='darwin 17' archs='x86_64' date='2019-01-09T19:13:23-0600'
