There are a few 6-year-old tickets open about the samba4 port, including a build failure (for a different reason than the one you encountered) and a need to update the port:

So I would suspect that nobody will be able to build the port until someone volunteers to fix it.


P.S: Please use our new list addresses at lists.macports.org, not the older hostname you used which we deprecated in 2016.
