Right, I originally read it as 2020 at 0803 pre-coffee.
At any rate, that is the exact spot that needs fixing.... probably start with a "matches" Clang rather than "equals" Clang and see where that leads but somebody interested will have to actually dig in on it and fix it properly, and that is not going to be me.
Looks like only Riccardo has noticed it was actually broken, because his oddball build was the most sensitive to the error. Supporting these older systems brings out all kinds of weird build system warts.
Punt to the maintainer -- Dave -- to put on his "someday" list.
