port select --set gcc not symlinking `cc` command

I just passed a week to solve a compiler error
(https://github.com/mutationpp/Mutationpp/issues/143#issuecomment-707742157)
associated to the fact that when selecting GCC as compiler with
Macports, the `cc` command does not get symlinked.

Is this a feature or it is a bug?
