How to download builds from macports?

Use one of the several mirror sites for pre-built binary distributions.
Look under section "Archives" here:
https://trac.macports.org/wiki/Mirrors

Because each home page is huge, I find it convenient to postfix the package
name for use in a browser, e.g.:
http://atl.us.packages.macports.org/ffmpeg/
