How install POSIX Threads / glibc2?

I'm trying to build the non-Macports math program "surf" from  http://surf.sourceforge.net. This is a tool to visualize algebraic curves and surfaces -- and NOT the program "surf" from Macports. (The latter is just a simple web bnowser._

Among the dependencies required for this math program "surf" ks "POSIX Threads (glibc2 on Linux)".

How can I get that dependency from Macports? I don't see directly any such "glibc2" among the ports.
