I suppose you ask about "Aqua Emacs", Quartz, not X11.

Tiger is very old, I don't know what version you can run there. MacPorts 
also dropped support for it recently.

But even on Leopard, I don't know what version you could pin. "Working 
on it". I think I started having success on 10.6 and only get a decent 
emacs on 10.7.

I'd like too to have the "last version" of Emacs and Vim for 10.5 and 
10.6, because they are essential tools.
