Thanks Riccardo,

Can you please point me to info regarding "pin it in an overlay macports"?  Do I need to set up another directory in /opt for this install, and then possibly not reference it for updates/upgrades?  I am already using a bootstrap version - for curl & certs, which is referenced by my 'daily driver' ports install for communication with the mothership.
