Attempt to install the salt port fails due to a missing dependency

It looks like MacPorts’ salt port is no longer actively maintained. The port is for version 3000.3 (released on 2020-05-13), while 3007.1 seems to be the latest.

Python 3.8 ports have also been dropped from MacPorts in the meantime, so that’s why py38-psutil no longer exists.

I recommend following the instructions in the error you got to report this issue to the bug tracker. If the maintainer is still active, hopefully they’ll fix it. If not, someone else will need to step up to breathe some life into this port again. Or you may need to install this software without MacPorts (e.g. https://docs.saltproject.io/salt/install-guide/en/latest/topics/install-by-operating-system/macos.html).

Nils.
