glib 2.88.1 and or gobjec-introspection 1.86 causing vnode exhaustion on 10.9.5 ?!

Well, not long after my initial message, the number of vnodes in use had again skyrocketed to a value at least 10x, and `mds` was burning CPU. In the end I decided I could do without Spotlight searching of $prefix, that helped. So the glib2 and/or gobject-introspection are probably not to blame, but any thoughts on why Spotlight (aka mds) would all of a sudden run wild like it did, and/or the need/wisdom to increase kern.maxvnodes are welcome!
However, the original error that sent me down this spiral, `":info:build Makefile:1: *** Too many open files in system. Stop."` has nothing to do with all this, but with the project's toplevel Makefile doing an include of itself... and of course that will quickly run into any max open files ceiling. And I'm afraid I have to admit that's purely my own fault.... :-/
