revolving to a previous MacPorts situation with Time Machine

Hello,

The last update of MacPorts lamentably crashed because of a problem with glib2 which fails to build.
While the ticket is being investigated, I need to return to a previous state of my Port install because many functions do not work anymore.
I was wondering whether I could erase the /opt/local and copy a previous one from my Timemachine archive ?

I must say that I already tried, but it seems to endlessly copy ”something” and after having copied about 500k files for 17Gb, it says there are 0 files to copy but keep copying and the size to be copied and the size copied increase simultaneously to 17.1, 17.2, 17.3 Gb…
I aborted the copy but some directories were not completely copied despite the 0 file… Should I have been more patient and waited for it to go to the end ?

Another option could be to rsync from a Timemachine older date directory directly but again it seems to copy a much larger chunk of Gb than the original.

If anyone has some experience with retrieving old /opt/local from TM, I would be glad to hear about it.

Thanks
Laurent
