Error starting colima (@0.5.5_0) on Monterey

I have not found any introductory documentation relating colima/lima/qemu
so there may be some simple errors on my part here, please advice!

Computer:
Intel MacBook Pro (2015) running Monterey 12.7,
colima @0.5.5_0,
lima @0.17.2_1,
qemu
@8.0.4_0+cocoa+spice+spice_protocol+target_arm+target_i386+target_x86_64+usb+vnc


Lots of hits on google about almost the exact same errors but common
solutions (mostly "colima stop, colima delete, colima start") is a no go
for me,
Any ideas where to look next ?
