	Yeah, quite annoying, the prompt appears only with output and then  
vanishes again when waiting for input. James is surely the best fit to  
comment on this, but in a rather Pontius-Pilate-way I guess we could  
say that it is highly recommended to enable readline support if you  
plan to use interactive mode.

	Nevertheless, I do agree this strange behavior is something that  
should be looked into.
