Maybe fixing #12605 would make the above unnecessary. Don't know yet.  
I'm looking into that ticket.

The ${sysroot} variable was added in r30032, after MacPorts 1.5.2 was  
released. You should hardcode the sysroot value until 1.6.0 is  
released... Or we could accept that this port is broken for 1.5.2  
users since the 1.6.0 release is supposed to be within a week.
