Perhaps, how is cyrus failing? If it's an issue of older headers being
incompatible with the new version, then you need to make sure the local -I
stuff (-I./include, -I../includes, whatever it may use) appears before
-I${prefix}/include in Makefiles. If it's with libraries, I believe a
similar tactic with -L will work.
Otherwise, it depends.
