Y'all should have a look at the RDF (XML Resource Description
Framework) that Creative Commons uses to mark CC-licensed work.  You
can get examples by selecting a license at http://creativecommons.org/
or view the source of my page here:

Note that the DOCTYPE of that page is XHTML+RDFa, not just XHTML:

   <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML+RDFa 1.0//EN"
  "http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/DTD/xhtml-rdfa-1.dtd">
