TK & mercurial

Hello list!

I am using a TK-based application (namely the mercurial "hg view" or, in other words "hgk" application) for my everyday work.
In the past this application was using  the X11 backend to present the graphics.

Since a couple of months this has changed and it is using the native graphics environment, which is of course more "pretty", but dead slow. Is there any way to revert back to the X11 backend especially for this application?
