Hi,
I'm Felipe Tanus, and I would like to join GSoC helping macports
project. I had never used macports until last month, when I bought an
macbook, but after a short while, this project catch my attention by
it usefulness, after all, as a Linux user is easy for me to recognize
the importance of a good package manager for any OS.
Binaries support idea attracts me because it seems to be a good
architecture challenge involving both network and build process, a
couple of subjects that interest me. I have no TCL experience, but I
have Ruby, Python, PHP, Haskell, and some others. Also I took a look
into the tutorial pointed on gsoc ideas list, so I believe that TCL
will come naturally. It even has socket support. I have C experience
what is usefull for macports, but I guess I'll not need on this
proposal. But that's only a guess, since I have nothing planed yet.
I need some directions to be able to write a good proposal. I already
read the macports GSoC page, checkout macport and MPBA codes, look at
glance, and then started to follow the TCL tutorial. Is any previous
known move to acomplish this idea? Does someone has some information
that can help me somehow?
Thank you for your attention,
Best regards
