xcode-select problem on a clean install of OS X Lion, XCode and MacPorts

Automagically modifying a user's setting is not a good idea. MacPorts
should at most warn and tell the user what to do.

Doesn't MacPorts already suggest running xcode-select?
base/src/macports1.0/macports.tcl lines 430-487 seem to do that.
