${frameworks_dir}/wxWidgets.framework/Versions/wxPython/2.9/bin/wx-config
is a "ln -s" soft-link file to shell script; not sure if that matters.
The link was broken until r110296 <
https://trac.macports.org/changeset/110296 > about 30 minutes ago; not
sure if that matters either. This select still fails for me, and I won't
be able to look at it until tonight at earliest. Maybe Mojca will get
